Durable Medical Equipment:
Free medical prosthesis (wheelchairs, canes, commodes, and crutches) is
available on a long or short-term loan basis.
Health Insurance:
SHINE: (Serving Health Information Needs of Elders)
The SHINE program is a free, confidential service that helps elders understand
their Medicare benefits and other health insurance options. The SHINE
counselor is trained and certified by the Executive Office of Elder
Affairs. Common issues include: rights and benefits under Medicare and
other health insurance coverage, comparisons of insurance plants, prevention of
duplicate coverage and assistance with forms and applications. SHINE
services are also available to homebound and handicapped seniors.

1-800-231-1155 to identify the SHINE counselor in your community. In
Middleborough call 946-2490 to schedule an appointment with a SHINE counselor.
