Public Health Nursing Assistant
FUNCTIONS:
Provide personal care assistance and dietary assistance to the elderly in their home.
Observe and report to Public Health Nurses changes in home patients status during visits.
Coordinates vaccine supply and distribution from the State Department of Public Health to all area Physician Offices, Nursing Homes and Health Department Office.
Maintains inventory of all vaccines.
Assists with all vaccine immunization clinics in Health Department Office and at off site clinic events.
Assists with blood pressure and lead screening clinics; and pre-school audio/visual testing.

GUIDE TO FREE SERVICES
Home Health Supervision Visits
- Evaluate cardiopulmonary status, general health and nutrition.
- Medication supervision and administration as needed.
- Environmental safety check
- Supervise dressing changes per physician orders.
- Dietary teaching as needed.
Communicable Disease and
Foodborne Illness Investigation
- Hepatitis, Salmonella, TB, Etc. as required for state reporting.
