Are You OK:
A daily telephone reassurance program for seniors in Middleborough.  This program is made available free of charge through the Sheriff's Department in cooperation with the Police Department and the COA.  Call the COA at 946-2490 for more information.

Food Stamps:
Applications and assistance for eligibility in the Food Stamp program are provided by appointment at the COA.  Eligibility is determined by the Taunton Department of Transitional Assistance.

Fuel Assistance:
Applications are available and appointments are made at the COA, usually November through March.  Fuel assistance applications are processed and approved by the South Shore Community Action Council, Inc. (SSCAC).

SSCAC provides energy assistance (oil, wood, gas and electric) and weatherization program.

Income Tax Service:
Assistance provided during tax season to individuals 60 and over in preparation of Federal and State income taxes.  Call the COA for an appointment and further information.

The Seniors Law Project provides services that may be delivered in the form of advice only, brief services, direct representation, referral to the private bar (full, reduced, or no fee) or referral to other appropriate agencies.  Types of legal issues handled include public benefits, housing, health/health insurance, and home care services, institutional issues, elderly abuse and estate planning.

Notary Services:
Free of charge by appointment

Social Security/SSI Services/Medicare:
A Social Security Administration counselor is available by appointment starting at 9:30AM on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month.  The counselor can assist citizens and the disabled regarding eligibility and benefits.
